Sod House Museum - Aline

Built in the homestead era, The Sod House, was built in 1894. With this being the original location of the sod house, the museum was actually built around it. At one time, sod houses lined North America’s plains regions. Now this is Oklahoma’s only sod house. The Oklahoma Historical Society purchased the sod house in 1963 and today when you tour you can find authentic artifacts of early farm life, featuring a sod plow, along with other exhibits, photographs, along with a root cellar.
