Hunter’s Home - Park Hill

The Hunter’s Home in Park Hill, just outside of Tahlequah is the last remaining antebellum plantation mansion left in Oklahoma. That means it’s the only plantation mansion before the Civil War. This was the home of Chief John Ross’s niece, Minerva Ross. Designated a National Historic Landmark and certified Trail of Tears site, this destination has several educational activities throughout the year. From Labor Day to Memorial Day, you can find living historians demonstrating 19th century crafts and trades such as cooking, spinning, weaving and gardening to name a few.
